The Tenugui (手ぬぐい ) is a traditional Japanese towel with a rectangular shape. Originally it was linen, but today the fabric is cotton. Its dimensions are 35 x 90 cm. In Japan, competitions dedicated to the Tenugui have been held, thanks to which the artists have refined the dyeing techniques and created new and original decorations; in this way the Tenugui have been transformed from simple towels to real decorations to hang on the walls to adorn the houses.
